Want Want Want

This is my current wishlist.. I'm starting to think of Spring/Summer and what I want to be wearing...

|Jacket: River Island | Sleeveless denim jacket, dress, shorts, crop top: Topshop | Jewellery: Asos|
I haven't featured any pastel colours, but they are popping up everywhere and I'm starting to think how I can incorporate them into my current love of 'grungey' style. I always lose my identity in summer, I wear stuff that is not me at all such as pretty girly dresses and buy clothes just for the sake of it. I am determined not to do that this year... I will not waste money on things that I will never wear again.

I've already bought the grey dress, after I featured it in my #SarenzaAmbassador post I knew I had to have it! I also now NEED a sleeveless denim jacket, but know that it's one of those things that I will end up hating and won't hardly wear. I'm hoping to find one in a charity shop or on Ebay to keep the cost down.

I have a £20 River Island voucher and the chavtastic summer collection is starting to hit the store... every A/W I see the new River Island collection and start to think, wow, they've really upped they're game this year.. then as soon as S/S comes... BAM it goes diamanté crazy again! So kinda struggling to spend it, but really LOVE the stripe jacket.. think I'll buy that. I can wear it with my stripe Motel jeans (y'know the ones) and look totes crazy! haha!

Anyway... I've been rather absent this week! I've been such an internet-phobe. I haven't even been on twitter/facebook I have hardly read any blogs.. It's all because I have been reading 'The Hunger Games' trilogy. WHAT.A.READ! Seriously so good, It took me about 4 days to read the whole trilogy. I don't read often because I turn into such a recluse, I cannot do ANYTHING until the book is finished, then for a few days after the book is finished all I can think about is reading and I get a little sad that I have finished the book lol! (I'm a weird one). Hopefully my somewhat 'normal' blogging will resume soon.

God your all gonna get so bored, I cannot stop talking!! Right, I've bought myself a Canon 600D and I am LOVING it.. (can't wait to do an outfit post) It's actually amazing, the only thing I cannot get the jist of is the Macro setting, for example, I was trying to get a picture of my nail art but it was a blur.. any tips other than buying a Macro lens? Also.. I need to find a new free photo editing site.. picnik is closing :( so any recommendations?

17 January 2012

shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist

Since payday I've been pretty much non-stop purchasing! Going to London really didn't help the matter.. most of what is pictured here was bought there :)

PRIMARK
Not sure the dress is very 'me' but will probably toughen it up a bit, do love it though! The shirt is awesome and looks and feels a tad more expensive than it was!

TOPSHOP

LOVE both of these things.. was actually hoping to find this dress in the dark red colour, but didn't! It literally fell out of the sale rail into my hands... I didn't even see it lol.. So I knew I had to buy it! What I love about velvet is the how theres lots of different shades of colour depending on where the light hits, weirdly though, thats what I used to hate about velvet! The shorts were featured in my latest Wish List and they are perfect.. have picked them up many a time in Topshop but always told myself I didn't need any more shorts!  Glad I finally got them!

URBAN OUTFITTERS

This picture does not do this jacket justice! I think it will be perfect in spring/summer when you just need a little cover up, its very lightweight! I love that it's aztec and pastely type colours (more-so in real life than on this pic) so will be bang on trend for S/S! This was a massive bargain, reduced from £40 to £20 and then when I got to the till it was £10 (£9 with NUS woohoo)!

TRAFFIC PEOPLE

The design of this bag has me written all over it.. I could not leave it in the shop! The only thing is I'm really not fussed on the shape of the bag.. it's one of them shoulder bags that tuck right up under your armpit! Remind me of bags I used to use when I was like 12! I'm gonna buy a long silver chain to make it into an across body bag..

SPITALFIELDS MARKET

Well, when I went to spitalfields I was under the impression that markets start early.. but no everywhere around there doesn't open till like 11am! So there wasn't much to look at, but I aim to go there again on a Sunday in summertime.. I'm sure it is amazing then! I bought this beautiful headband, been lusting over one for a while, but didn't think it would suit me.. This one is so perfect, it feels like real fur it's so so soooo soft! It is faux though :) It's been so cold up here in the valleys the last couple of days, so I'm sure I'll get good use out of this!

NEVER FULLY DRESSED

This was a monster of a bargain.. I bought it over at NFD on Asos Marketplace on sale for £16 reduced from about £54! The blue is so vibrant in real life.. my camera does the colour no justice at all! Here's the link to this beautiful shirt! Ahh... while getting the link I've realised the shirt has gone back up to full price :( I feel extra lucky now though haha!

Sooo, lovely people that's what I've been buying! Oh, and I'm well chuffed to say that I have reached 300 followers... YAY! Thank you all, another little mile-stone for me and my little blog!

Ultimate Biggest Lust

SEPTEMBER

I talked about a coat I'd seen that was no longer online, and I couldn't afford it and it was gorgeous blah blah... I finally got it in December woohoooo!

Bought from Topshop via the wonderful world of Ebay... I've wanted a fur coat like this for years, but never wanted to spend the money, kept thinking they would go out of fashion... but nope I have faith that I will be wearing this same coat when I'm 80 lol!

Ultimate Planning on Buying

Out of everything I planned on buying.. I actually only bought about 2 things! The biggest thing I'm planning on buying is a brand new smile... consultation is in ten days wooohooo!!

Ultimate Favourite Picture

Aww.. all the blogger girlies :) Had a wonderful day with them.. and I need to go to more meets in 2012! I need to be more organised and book things off work straight away so I stop missing out!

Ultimate Favourite Blog Posts

I've looked back through my whole blog and picked my favourite posts! Most are on this side of September.. that's when my blog started to become (in my opinion) a lot better, with outfit posts becoming a lot less sparse and a whole lot better :)  although, lately I've been posting a lot less than I am happy with! This must change :)

MONOCHROME

Notable Yearly Achievements

I became a supervisor!
I completed year 2 of University
I actually paid for my own holiday (massive for me, normally have to have mammy to pay coz I'm shit with money)
I STARTED A BLOG!!! :D

2012.. Looking forward to..

Having a new smile.... veneers babyyy!
I'm looking forward to seeing how my blog can grow and get bigger!
Hopefully going to a festival
Living life to the full!
Paying off all my debt not including my student debt lol or the debt that my teeth are gonna cost me!

Well thats it, wish I done this post last night so I could say that this is the last post for this year! lol!
I want to thank every single reader and follower for sticking with me throughout this year.. looking back at the beginning of this blog I don't know how I had any followers at all haha!! I feel 'The Deer Head' really started to grow when I changed the name from 'Arms around a Memory' or whatever it was called, I can't even remember now lol, it was a shit name. If any non-bloggers are reading I advise you MASSIVELY to think about your name for a good while before you take the plunge and start a blog! I enjoy blogging a lot more now than when I started, I felt a lot of pressure to look good, do the 'right' posts, blah blah.. now I feel a lot more comfortable about what I say, post, what pictures I use etc etc!

Anyways, hope you all have a brilliant 2012!

25 December 2011

Merry Christmas everyone :)

I'm not hungover... yay!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day, I've only just opened my presents and dinner is not till later than normal (but just had a lovely bacon sandwich using the bacon that has been cooking on top of the turkey all morning.. YUM)

Shirt: Topshop
Trousers: H&M
Necklace: Young Forever

This is what I wore out last night, went to the local Weatherspoons and it was rammed with people who I haven't seen in forever.. That's what I love about Christmas time, you just seem to catch up with everyone, people who have moved away for uni, work etc.. and people who only show they're faces on special occasions. Where I live, for some reason everyone just all gathers in this one place on Christmas eve, it's always an awesome laugh :)

Hope everyone had what they wanted for Christmas.. I did :)

17 October 2011

Want Want Want...

I haven't done a want list in ages, probably because the shops aren't really wowing me at the moment... Which is kinda of a good thing as I don't have any money to spend! BUT... There are obviously a few things that I wouldn't mind owning...

Urban Outfitters have some really beautiful pieces this year.. I've bought a cardi that I'm sure you'll see more of on this blog and it is really gorgeous! Wore it yesterday and had so many compliments! Also I really want the fringed socks which are so original! (I could probably make them myself mind!). I'm really disappointed in Topshop's knitwear this year... Normally they have me lusting over every knitted item that they produce! But nothing has really got me going this year... they must have put all their money into making shoes, as the choice of shoes have been freaking amazing! River Island have really upped their game this season, they have produced some gorgeous coats and knitwear and have got me looking at their website more and more! Finally, All Saints... my ultimate lust shop.. I do treat myself to their clothing on the rare occasion but never have a big spree there as the prices are a little expensive.. The detail that goes into their products is second to none! Absolutely beautiful.. NEED THAT JUMPER!

In other news.. I am completely depressed that Wales lost in the rugby! If you are French I now hate you (haha I'm joking) But ALAIN ROLLANDS (the ref) if you ever happen to stumble on to this post I just want you to know that you are a complete and utter TWAT :)

Right I shall Love you and Leave you!

2 October 2011

September... monthly round up #4

These monthly round-ups come around way too quickly!! I almost forgot to do one until I realised it's actually OCTOBER? Crazy right?

Favourite Outfit

I wore this on the day of my birthday and just felt super comfortable! This outfit defines some my fashion loves right now.. leather, aztec, chunky knits, skulls (necklace)... see the 'outfit post' here

Favourite Fashion Buy

I bought this shirt from New Look the other day, I'm yet to wear it but I've been lusting over snake print for a while now! I can't wait to style it up and actually wear it :) It looks much much nicer in real life than in this picture. I think New Look website makes everything look so mumsy.. they really don't picture their clothes very well!

Favourite Beauty Buy
rio rio
I ordered this online, something I wouldn't normally do when buying lipstick but the colour is absolutely fab, a really bright sexy red! With my newly dark hair I thought red would look fab as when I had red hair I was a bit scared of red overload! It's not as easy to apply as my favourite Mac lippy (which I may have lost :( ), but it is half the price!

Favourite Nails

My take on the 'galaxy nail' trend. I didn't appreciate these nails as much as I should have when I actually had it on, I wasn't that impressed. After I took it off I missed this gorgeous mani and can't wait to do it again.. see my post here

Biggest Splurge
I haven't really splurged at all this month, most things I have bought have been fairly cheap and cheerful. Although I did spend £40 in Primark on just three things.. which in my eyes is a bit of a splurge!

Best Bargain

I always contradict myself... as I just mentioned my 'spurge' in Primark, well during that splurge I found these gorgeous bargains! Just £16 and I absolutely love them! they have a little heel too which I love! Super comfy too!
Biggest Lust

I'm annoyed that I can't find a picture of my 'biggest lust' item online. It is a leopard print fur coat from Topshop and it is absolutely devine!! It is a tad pricey at £100 but looks like it would be well worth it!
I'll leave you with a picture of a coat that isn't quite my biggest lust, but I would happily buy if money was no object :)

Plan on Buying

I have actually bought for now everything I want, but I plan on buying a claw ring once I find a cheap one and I need a vintage lace Basque more than anything but I CANNOT find one! Anyone know of any? I want black! There is one on ASOS but it's not quite perfect!

Favourite Picture

Makes me laugh every time.. just sums up my birthday night out perfectly: MESSY!

Achieved
Well I work in Morrisons and took the plunge and applied for a supervisor job... don't know if I got it yet, but just applying is a bit of an achievement! Other than that I've been a lazy bugger this month... uni starts again Monday though, so no more lazy Lowri!
Also I think my lovely blog has grown a bit this month, as in I feel I have put more effort with outfit posts, which was the original aim for this blog!
Looking Forward to

SOUTH WALES BLOGGER MEET!! I'm beyond exited! Can't wait to meet some fellow bloggers.. although I hope I'm not shy; I don't think I'm shy but you never know with me... lol!

HALLOWEEEEEEN!!! Last years Halloween was probably the best, most funny night of my life... you know a night that will stay in your memories forever? Well I'm hoping we can re-create that same madness this Halloween! Just what do I dress up as? Dying to dress as a Jack in the box, but maybe be awkward to go the the loo!

Also.. I mentioned in my last post that I'm going to start my own little business selling hand painted false nails.. Well I can't wait for that to get underway and hopefully start making some moneys :)

That's all from me.. September has been a good month :D Bring on October!

12 September 2011

It's my birthday :D

Happy Birthday to meee :) I'm 22 years young today! Thought I'd celebrate by doing an outfit post.. this is what I wore out on Saturday night. I'm actually celebrating my birthday next Saturday as my parent's go away tomorrow so I'm gonna have all the girls round mine for lots of drinking and then we're gonna go to Cardiff and party hard :) I finally found a 'birthday dress' (I think; ordered it online so gotta see if I love it when it comes) thank's everyone who looked for a dress for me, you were all very helpful :)

Top: Topshop
Shorts: vintage Levi
Ignore my bedroom behind me; I'm in the middle of decorating so it's looking a little boring at the moment! The wall used to be black so it's a massive change so far.. I wanna make the wall a feature wall using my ram head (from this post) and lots of vintage pictures in vintage photo frames! This is the first time I've wore my hair up on a night out, but I will deffo be doing it more often, life was so easy without worrying about hair going frizzy or whatever! I tried doing galaxy nails yesturday.. they turned out disasterous, I actually tried twice and each time they just looked shit! I'm so gutted :( lol!

One last thing... I was planning on buying myself a domain (.com) name.. but as I expected I have run out of money within 2 days of being paid but it's really annoying that my blog name and URL were different SOOOO...

Anyways I'm starting to ramble about shit, feel like I got so much to say today but...I shall love you and leave you :)

P.s How shit are Birthdays when your old?? YAWN! Much more exited for the night out :)

2 September 2011

August...Monthly Round up #3

Hey Guys

August has been a bit of a YAWN month for me... There's not really any excitement in my world any more
:( boo poor me! Lol!

Favourite Outfit
Dress & Shoes: Topshop

Worst picture in the world sorry.. I've had this dress for ages, but it's one of my faves. It's the perfect shape for me and easy to throw on day or night or dress up or down. I wore it out for my friends birthday :) I don't know if you can see my earrings... they are AWESOME.. they're feathery and so long!

Favourite Fashion Buy

LLYMLRS: Jwlry
I bought this gorgeous necklace for an amazing price.. It's deffo my favourite buy this month as I have worn it most days. I have been after a necklace like this for ages and now I finally have one and am very happy about it :)

Favourite Beauty Buy
Maybelline
This was literally my favourite mascara from about age 13-16. I loved it, but started to become interested in higher end brands such as Benefit. So from about age 16-now I have been trying various different brands, never sticking to the same mascara and trying to find my perfect one... Then I spotted this one day in boots and remembered how much I loved it. I bought it, used it, and BAM.. I still freaking Love it!! :)

Favourite Nails

Without doubt, these were my favourite nails this month. They were awesome, in your face, and I had so many compliments about them!!

Biggest Splurge
Kandee Shoes
These were definitely my biggest splurge. I spent my last pennies on these babies but as gorgeous as they are, they don't half hurt your feet! They are 6.1 inches high and are practically impossible for someone who is used to a chunky heel and massive platform to walk in. But I still LOVE them!!

Best Bargain
My biggest bargains were all from a boot sale featured in THIS post... check it out :) Also ironically my 'biggest splurge' shoes above were also a massive bargain reduced from £180 to £50 :)

Biggest Lust
Topshop
I was struggling to decide my 'biggest lust' as I want so many things but not just one thing stood out UNTIL.. I realised this gorgeous cardigan that I WANT/NEED so badly and was planning on buying as soon as I get paid has disappeared of the face of the earth. And you know what they say 'You always want what you can't have' the saying is totally true.. as Yes I wanted it before, but I need it now.. (please someone tell me I'm delusional and that it is still on the Topshop website somewhere. Pleaseee! )

Planning On Buying
Well apart from the gorgeous cardigan above^^^ which I was originally gonna buy!

In Love With Fashion
I want this dress to wear out for my birthday I think... will probably change my mind! I don't know whether it is too casual, well, I know its not casual but I wanna look extra special on my birthday; a bit more dressed up than normal.

Favourite Picture

Just me and the girls painting the town red (God I hate that saying haha)... We somehow bagged ourselves two free bottles of Champagne.. it turned out to be a VERY messy night!!

Achieved

  • Well.. I finally changed the name on my Blog. I chose the last name (You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory) in like 2 minutes and it wasn't well thought out; An 8 word name wasn't ideal at all!! I wanted something memorable and short! I also managed to change a few things like the background and header etc which is a BIG achievement for me as I don't do computer things lol!
  • My favourite achievement is trying to convince my mam for four days to buy me £25 worth of Models Own nail polish in their 50% off sale.. I succeeded!!! .. I thought I was gonna miss out and I was getting proper down about it lol! THANK YOU MAMMY :)

Looking Forward to
  • My Birthday is this month.. '12th September' Remember the date ;)!! I will be 22 years old, which is proper scary! My parents are going away so I have the house to myself which only means one thing... MASSIVE BIRTHDAY PARTYYY!!! Gonna be Fun :)
  • I'm hoping to buy myself a '.com' this month. Hopefully my new name will be 'www.lowri-thedeerhead.com'
Not Looking Forward to
This month I'm gonna try and make changes to my spending habits. I'm getting beyond control, so I'm gonna cut down on what I buy and ask the dreaded question before every purchase 'Do I really need this.' I wanna try and make a 'capsule' wardrobe thing but it seems very hard actually getting round to doing it and sitting down and thinking about it... but expect a few upcoming posts on my progress :) (I've contradicted myself here I'm cutting down on spending AND building a capsule wardrobe haha)

So that's that. Not really an interesting month for me to be honest! I'm sure September will be more eventful :)

26 August 2011

This A/W I want to be wearing...

Hey Ladies

First of all, you may or may not have noticed that I have changed my name... You can now call me 'The Deer Head'. I know some of you liked my old name (I also liked it but it was WAY TOO LONG and more of a phrase than a name) I'm hoping to change my URL in the next month or so too.. hopefully I will be a '.com'.

Anyways, on with the post... These are some styles I would LOVE to be wearing...

L-R Dorothy Perkins x2 Topshop x3

Last year I was obsessed with novelty knits. Nothing has changed. Anyone remember the Panda top in Topshop that was selling on Ebay for stupid money? Well I have that and it is STILL my favourite. The only problem with Topshop novelty knits is the price! Sites such as 'Desire Clothing' were coming up with lovely cheap alternatives last year, lets hope they do that again this year (atm the majority of the knitwear on that site is bleughhhhh)!

Topshop. Stripe jeans: Motel

Patterned jeans are for someone who wants to stand out and get noticed. It is kinda hard to sink into the backround with patterns all over your legs. I find they take a bit of courage to actually wear, and can be quite hard to dress an outfit around. Your mind automatically thinks that a plain top is the only answer, but I think some sort of rock tee or chunky knit jumper would look perfect!

L-R Miss Selfridge. Topshop. Miss Selfridge x2. Topshop

Black.. Well what can I say about black? It's my favourite colour, it's slimming, it's easy to dress up or down... It's definitely the easiest colour to wear; I've never met someone who thinks black doesn't suit them, it simply looks awesome on everyone... pale, tanned, blonde or brunette! What's not to love about black?

What are you loving?
